Usage limits without false precision

Plans, models, regions and rollouts can change. A trustworthy guide explains how to read your current limit instead of freezing one number.

Start with five fields

  1. Product: Codex, ChatGPT, or an explicitly shared pool.
  2. Scope: plan, model, feature, workspace, or account.
  3. Window: rolling, scheduled, weekly, or one-off.
  4. Timestamp: UTC plus the displayed IANA time zone.
  5. Source date: when the rule was published and rechecked.

Why screenshots age badly

A screenshot can omit the plan, region, experiment or date that made its number true. It can also show a local clock without a zone. Use screenshots as clues, then verify the current in-product copy and first-party documentation.

What ResetWire will record

A durable policy record stores the affected product, effective UTC time, scope, user action, attached sources and later corrections. A speculative number never becomes “confirmed” because many people repeat it.

Why there is no personal countdown

Five-hour and weekly windows can depend on the visitor’s own usage, plan and account display. ResetWire cannot read that private state, so it does not estimate a personal reset clock. Use the timestamp or allowance message inside ChatGPT and convert only that exact value.
