Direct answer

Did Codex reset today?

ResetWire currently has no reliable live forecast. Demo fixtures never become a public “today” answer.

Latest confirmed reset announcement: 2026-08-01T03:32:37.508Z

“Today” will be evaluated in your selected IANA time zone. The UTC announcement remains the auditable source-of-truth anchor.

Treat the counter shown in your OpenAI product as the source of truth for your personal account window.

Why “today” is easy to misread

A timestamp can fall on different dates in UTC, Shanghai, New York and Sydney. A rolling allowance can also behave differently from a one-time global reset. ResetWire stores the original UTC time and then renders it in an IANA time zone so daylight saving and cross-date changes remain visible.

Verification order

  1. Check the in-product usage display for your account and plan.
  2. Look for an official OpenAI status or documentation update.
  3. Read a first-party post as a signal until the outcome is known.
  4. Keep editor and community forecasts separate from confirmation.

Time-zone lens

The same reset, in your clock.

Reset notices are stored in UTC. We default to your browser’s IANA time zone, account for daylight saving time, and keep UTC visible as the source of truth.
